SHOW THEM SOME LOVE
The Director General, National Broadcasting Commission, Engr.Yomi Bolarinwa, has implored well-to-do Nigerians to always find time to visit and lend a helping hand to the various charity Homes located across states of the Federation.
He gave this advice during a visit to the Abuja Children’s Home, Karu, as part of programmes lined up for the 20th Anniversary celebration of the National Broadcasting Commission, and in line with the Commission’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
The Director General, who was accompanied to the home by Members of the Board of Management of the Commission, visited the three hostels housing the babies, the girls and boys to donate foodstuff; beverages; toiletries; and Electronic equipments. He was introduced to the children and their guardians by Mr. Inaede Felix, the resident accountant.
The Home, which has 54 children between the ages of three and twenty years, was in high spirit as the Director General and Members of Board of Management danced, joked, and played with the children.
In his remark, Engr. Bolarinwa, expressed his happiness to be in the midst of the children. He noted that the children at the Home were the lucky few as they were others’ on the streets that needed to be cared for and supported through their education. He appealed to Nigerians to show these less fortunate citizens some love as most of them will grow to become great leaders of tomorrow.
Engr. Bolarinwa, promised to provide the home with a DSTV audio- visual equipments which he advised should be permanently tuned to instructional channels for the children’s education.
Responding, Mr. Inaede Felix, on behalf of the Management of the Home, thanked the Director General and the Members of the Board of Management for the visit and donation. He used the forum to thank everyone who had found time to visit the Home for their support and promised, on behalf of the Management of the Home, to sustain their effort in taking care of the children.
The visit ended with group photographs!
